Reuter Organ, Opus 1676

In 1971, Second Church dedicated the Reuter Organ, a two-manual and pedal pipe organ of 24 ranks. It has served the congregation well, and continues to be the primary instrument to lead the music of the church.

At the age of 38, the console has become less reliable and will need to be replaced soon. At the same time, we wish to make prudent decisions for improving the tonal resources of the organ, both to address what 38 years of use have taught us about what it lacks, and to correct some irregularities in voicing and scaling. Second Church has included the organ project in a capital campaign to provide the funds necessary to complete this project. (Follow this link to see updates on the Organ Project.)
